We will be doing some work in the office on Tuesday, Sept. 8 - Thursday Sept. 10 which may cause interruptions to the library server. Please bear with us.
We are currently experiencing problems with emails going out from KOHA (you may not receive any!) - Please keep track of your due dates through your account.
Late fees on overdue items will no longer be charged after September 1st, 2020, and all previous fines will be waived, as long as you are current member of Theatre Alberta.
When you take out books, you may renew them up to five times, unless an item that you have taken out has been requested by another member. If a member has requested an item that you currently have out, you will not be able to renew the item. Renewals of checked out items still need to be made by members through their online accounts or by the librarian.
If you have not returned the item after the fifth renewal, your Theatre Alberta membership will be suspended until the book is returned or replaced. A book may be replaced by paying a $25.00 replacement fee, or by providing a clean copy of a published script for the library collection.
The Theatre Alberta Library is now circulating books — via Canada Post only — to all Theatre Alberta members!
Our free mailing service is available to all members, including those living in Edmonton and surrounding areas. Edmonton members who currently have Library books they’d like to return are asked to contact Chris Profiri. The physical Library will remain closed to members and the public. Requested materials will be sent out on Mondays and Thursdays.
To request plays or reference materials, please place a hold on the items through your online library account or email the Librarian with your requests.
In order to maintain and exceed Alberta Health Services guidelines for reducing the risk of transmission of Covid 19, when mailing books we will:
- clean and sanitize all surfaces that the books and mailing supplies are in contact with;
- practice strict personal hygiene guidelines as outlined in the Alberta Government’s Workplace Guidance for Business Owners;
- temporarily discontinue the use of our famous purple cloth library bags, and use plastic bubble mailers to ship books back and forth;
- quarantine all returned library materials for at least 72 hours before reshelving or recirculating; and
- keep our website up to date with best practices that we are using as they continue to evolve.
Please do not return items to the Fringe Office until further notice.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to navigate a safe return to your service.
To sign into your account use: yourfirstname.yourlastname (as your log in), and the pin number you were given when you became a member (as your password).

Please take some time to experiment with searching in KOHA, as there are some differences from our previous catalog. If you would like some help, check out KOHA Tips. Or, you may Email the Librarian. As always, the librarian would be happy to talk to you during library hours: 780-422-8162.
